During the course of a remodel, it was discovered that the building was crumbling and was not structurally sufficient to be remodeled. The decision was made to completely demolish the building and recreate the shell to match the existing design as closely as possible while modernizing the materials and ensuring the building met with current codes. With the building replaced, the Walmart Museum has a home that will easily last another 100 years.
